Rainbow of hope Children’s Home –

Goodwood (February – corporate)

This is a well managed Children’s Home situated in the heart of Goodwood. The children are happy and there is an evident peace that one experiences when entering the Home. The team will be doing some general maintenance jobs around the Home in one afternoon.

Mzamowethu EduCare –

Mfuleni (March – corporate)

NEWKIDZ on the block and Old Mutual did a makeover at this registered EduCare in December 2010. Since then, this facility suffered a tragic fire, which I’m sure you heard about in the news, and everything was destroyed. They have been able to re-build the centre and we will be repainting the interior and exterior of the building.Mfuleni (March – corporate)

Masigcine Children’s Home –

NEWKIDZ on the block was birthed in 2007 after completing our first makeover at the this Children’s Home. It is now 4-years later and the Home needs some touch up work and a nice fresh coat of paint. We are calling all volunteers to come and help over the weekend of the 14th and 15th April 2011 to paint; work in the garden; clean; sort and pack. Registration will be opening soon.

Noncedo EduCare –

Mfuleni (May – all volunteers)

This is another one of our previous makeover projects that was done in 2009 and we plan to return and give this EduCare a fresh coat of paint and improve their playgrounds too.If your company would like to sponsor this project or contribute your skills and product, please contact us.

67-minute Mandela Day Beach Clean Up

(July – all volunteers)

Last year, in association with the Department of Environmental affairs and other stakeholders, we cleaned our beaches from Sunrise Circle in Muizenberg to the Strand. This year we plan to do both coasts, covering 24 beaches but the difference is that each sector will only be a distance of 3 – 4 km and everyone will start simultaneously. Watch this space!

Leliebloem Children’s Home –

This Children’s Home is extremely large and will be another one of our huge projects. We will be needing hundred’s of volunteers to help so please keep an eye open for this makeover. We are looking for sponsors to help by contributing finances; skills and/or product, please contact us.

Siphamandla EduCare -

Crossroads (August – all volunteers)

We were introduced to this EduCare via the Department of Social Development as they are concerned about the deterioration of the facility in respect of their infrastructure. This will be a weekend project so please keep an eye open for further details via our website. Koraal Light House Family Centre –

Paarl (September – all volunteers)

An un-used police station in Paarl has been converted into a place of safety for abused women and children. We would like to convert the holding cells into bedrooms for women and children who come there looking for a place of refuge. This is a going to be an emotional makeover so please keep an eye open for this one too. This project might be brought forward to earlier in the year depending on sponsors.
